Half the fun of Odaiba is the journey: the driverless Yurikamome monorail glides out from Shimbashi and over the Rainbow Bridge with bay views the whole way. There's also a train option and even a boat - here's how to pick.

    The options

    • Yurikamome from Shimbashi: the scenic choice, ~15-25 min over the Rainbow Bridge - sit at the very front
    • Rinkai line from Osaki/Shibuya side to Tokyo Teleport: faster/cheaper if coming from the west
    • Tokyo Water Bus / bay cruise from Asakusa or Hinode: slow but a lovely approach by water
    • All drop you within walking distance of the malls, Gundam and waterfront

    Local tip

Take the Yurikamome out (front row, for the bridge crossing) and consider the Rinkai line or water bus back to vary the trip. A Yurikamome one-day pass is worth it only if you'll hop several stops on the island. Tap an IC card otherwise.

How do you get to Odaiba? +

Take the Yurikamome monorail from Shimbashi over the Rainbow Bridge (~15-25 min) for the scenic ride, or the Rinkai line to Tokyo Teleport from the Shibuya/Osaki side. A bay cruise from Asakusa is a slower, scenic alternative.

What's the best way to get to Odaiba? +

The Yurikamome for the views - sit at the front for the Rainbow Bridge crossing. Use the Rinkai line if you're coming from the west and want it faster.
