Yokohama is so close it barely counts as a trip — 25–30 minutes and a few hundred yen. The one tip that saves you walking: for the bay sights, ride to Minato Mirai station rather than Yokohama station, which is a hub set back from the water.

    From the main hubs

    • Shibuya → Minato Mirai: Tokyu Toyoko / Minatomirai line, direct, ~30 min, ~¥480 — best for the bay
    • Tokyo Station → Yokohama: JR Tokaido/Keihin-Tohoku, ~25–40 min, ~¥480
    • Shinjuku → Yokohama: JR Shonan-Shinjuku line, ~30 min, ~¥570
    • Shinagawa → Yokohama: Keikyu line, ~17 min, ~¥320 (often the fastest)

    Local tip

Tap your IC card and don't overthink it. If your day is all bayfront — Chinatown, Red Brick, Minato Mirai — the Minatomirai line from Shibuya drops you right in the middle of it and saves a 15-minute walk from Yokohama station.
