Yokohama is so close it barely counts as a trip — 25–30 minutes and a few hundred yen. The one tip that saves you walking: for the bay sights, ride to Minato Mirai station rather than Yokohama station, which is a hub set back from the water.
Tap your IC card and don't overthink it. If your day is all bayfront — Chinatown, Red Brick, Minato Mirai — the Minatomirai line from Shibuya drops you right in the middle of it and saves a 15-minute walk from Yokohama station.
From Shibuya, the Tokyu Toyoko/Minatomirai line runs direct to the bay in ~30 min (~¥480). From Tokyo Station, JR lines take ~25–40 min; from Shinagawa, the Keikyu line is often fastest at ~17 min.
Minato Mirai station — it's right among the bay sights. Yokohama station is a big hub set back from the water, a 15-minute walk away.
